Kids & Family Yoga

Ditch your kids for 45 mins and enjoy a cup of joe and fresh baked pie around the corner at Hoosier Mama Pie Company or trek down Chicago Ave east to Swim Cafe or west to Bleeding Heart Bakery.  We’ll explore movements, noises, making friends and giggling.

Little Show-Offs Class: —they have no problem turning into pretzels. We’ll read stories, hiss and bark at each other, walk like crabs and whatever else inspires us. Parents hang in the lounge or stay in the studio with us. This class is suitable for kids ages 2 and up.

New Parents with Baby:  Bring your baby for tummy time while you practice or let them hang in their car seats.  We’ll move through easy poses while focusing on our breath, restore our cores, and balance our minds and bodies.  This class is a great way to ease back into physical movement after the birthing process (for mommy’s and daddy’s–we know daddy’s get pregnant too…), meeting other new parents, and just getting out of the house.  Our lounge is comfortable for nursing if you’re baby gets hungry and compatible for changing dirty diapers.

Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that marvelous inner light that all children have to the surface.” From YogaJournal
